A Brief Introduction To Freemasonry And Masonic Lodge

Freemasons or Masons are the fraternity members of Freemasonry, which is one of the world’s oldest organizations. It is one of the few organizations that are operating at international level and have members across different parts of the globe. Freemasonry is not a religious organization but to become a member of this organization, you must have faith in one supreme power. The members of this organization believe in universal brotherhood and the prime focus of this organization is to contribute to community work. Freemasons believe in service to mankind and they constantly strive to improve the morals of society. However, this organization has maintained secrecy about Masonic membership and the elements of the operation. So, a very small amount of information is available to those, who are not a member of this organization.

Masonic Lodge
It is basically a private lodge or constituent lodge and is the basic organizational unit of Freemasonry. All the new Masonic Lodges must be warranted by a grand lodge. The Freemasonry meetings and the premises, where the Masons meet are also called lodges. In many countries, the meeting place is also called the Masonic center or hall. Several different lodges and Masonic organizations often use the same premises for meetings. These Masonic organizations share the same place for conferences and meetings.
